About us
GE Contracts (GEC)
GEC is a climate conscious residential building contractor based in North East England.
As Principal Contractor we have built over 100 family homes for private developers and social housing providers. Our homes include a housing estate of 69 dwellings, bungalows for a social housing provider and multiple apartments for private developers.
GE Contracts is laser focused on bringing each project in on time and on budget. This has created a track record of client satisfaction.
Quality
We build homes of an exceptional standard. This is due to a combination of our systemised approach combined with employing talented and conscientious people. We have unique quality control procedures which are strictly followed throughout our whole build process; this ensures homes of the highest standard are built. A 10 year structural warranty from LABC Warranty comes with our completed homes.
Our People
The health and safety of our staff, subcontractors, residents and visitors is of the utmost importance. We invest in training our staff and subcontractors and have created our very own health and safety quality management system for each project we carry out. Internal training, NVQs and training courses from CITB are combined together to ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.
Race to Zero
Race to Zero is a global campaign encouraging companies, cities and others to take action to halve global emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Energy to operate buildings is the biggest contributor to carbon emissions in our industry. To minimise operational carbon emissions we take a fabric first approach and build with high levels of insulation, use high performance windows and doors, make the building as airtight as possible and aim for the building to be thermal bridge free. It’s more economical to save energy than generate it.
We also encourage the efficient use of materials and innovative new technologies which encourages optimisation of embodied carbon.
GE Contracts thoroughly believes in Passivhaus building methods which are tried and tested for Net Zero ready buildings, optimised for decarbonisation of the grid and augmented for optimum health.
The team at GE Contracts believes it is our responsibility to drastically reduce carbon emissions in the built environment and build sustainable smart homes for future generations.
